Joseba Beloki announced his retirement last 21st of December in Vitoria-Gasteiz -the city where he lives with with family-. Beloki was three times podium in the Tour the France and has run in local Euskaltel-Euskadi team.
In 2003 Joseba went down during descent -cycling close to Lance Amstrong- in the Tour, what resulted into a temporary retirement.
