Sylverspace Animation Studios, a computer animation company based in Vitoria-Gasteiz's Technological Park in Minano, has been pre-selected to be between the nominees in the category of "Best Animation Short" for the Oscars 2009. It will be known if they are finally nominated next 22nd of January 2009.
The short, called "Perpetuum Mobile", is the story of a XVth Century alchimist obsesed with perpetual moviments, whose work will be useful for Leonardo Da Vinci. The short is on youtube;

A short by Raquel Ajofrin, Enrique Garcia and Enrique Salazar, who expect to sell the rights to an American Distributor and be finally able to develop the whole movie. Up today they have won several international prizes and if everything goes fine, they will face other Productors like Pixar or DreamWorks.
