Bernardo Atxaga's by New York Times

Bernardo Atxaga is a Basque writer well-known in Vitoria-Gasteiz after living here the 80s and 90s -where he wrote much of his best literary work. The New York Times and other online media published last week the first chapter of his novel: Soinujolearen semea (The accordionist's son).


Bernardo also made a brilliant description of the Basque conflict in Julio Medem's movie "The Basque Ball". He opens the documentary (subtitled in English) in the following video:
