Salburua wetland, purifier of subterranean water supplying city of Vitoria-Gasteiz

A research made at the University of The Basque Country revealed today:

"Miren Martínez Santos, researcher at the University of the Basque Country’s Department of Geodynamics, has analysed the quality of Quaternary water-bearing rock supplying water to the Basque capital of Vitoria-Gasteiz. The conclusions of her PhD thesis point to the recovery of the Salburua wetland being a contributory factor in reducing the concentration of nitrates due to agricultural activity in the water."
